CCA Orientation yesterday marked the start of real hardcore HuangCheng preparation. Gotta start accepting the fact that I'll be camping in school 'til 10pm almost everyday man. I pwnz canoeists already, mwahahaha! :D

Your charm may get you through, but it’s just unprofessional to be late or flaky. You hard work will pay off shortly. I promise.

It's been quite a while since I've met any non-Hwach friend. While I understand that most of us are busy with various commitments now, it still kinda sucks to see rejected invitations or have meet-ups cancelled. I've seen it coming, we've all probably seen it coming. So it really isn't so bad. The tough part is how to make sure that the ten / eight years of friendship remains dear to us even after A's. Frankly speaking, I find it a little difficult to maintain conversations with some of us nowadays. The distance is heart-wrenching. I'm starting to wonder if anyone even noticed how strained some of us have become as compared to the days when we led crazy carefree lives.

Went out for dinner with BingQiang and WoonNgiap right after I blogged the first part of this post, haha. Pure coincidence that they asked me out right after I was done ranting. :D

Omg I just realised I haven't taken photos of/with them since October!! :O Am looking forward to BBQ at Box's house, I'm gonna spam photos all night! :D

During the end of my Sec Four year, I told myself I would ditch all leadership posts and be a low-profiled little unknown student when I entered college. After leading people all my life, I wanted to be a follower and experience how it's like to really be an insignificant (comparatively) member for these two years. I admit it's satisfying to see your project successfully completed and I am proud to be part of a troop of saikang warriors, but it's true that it is tiring and restrictive too. Stress is a negligible issue to me, as compared to the lack of freedom to do things I love to do, like go out with friends, etc. It's not like they lack leaders in Hwach anyway, and I'm more than willing to follow these exceedingly smart and capable people, so it's no big deal. And I do applaud these people for their high level of commitments; I don't like to be tied down so horribly securely to something. But I guess, sometimes, bits of the "air" (as JiaQiang calls it) escaped from me, and I look at people and things which they do from the eyes of a retired warrior. Many people forget that while they are dealing with their tasks and work, they are dealing with people too. They forget that while they lead, they should also establish good people relationships. They don't realise that when their people lose faith and trust in them, that is usually when everything starts going wrong. What is a leader without his followers and his fellow companions?

Skipping the drama (pun unintended!), the conclusion of our mini episode within CCA is that I've succumbed to coercion and the little bit of unjust in me and taken up a post. We've hurt some people, and I am apologetic because I've never wanted to fight or snatch anything away from these people. And I'm in a precarious position now because the decision was made by the "people" and the "leaders" were merely notified after the exco has already settled on their choices. Which makes me the product of a rebellion. Ohwells.

On a lighter note, since I'm going to do a lot of saikang, I want people to see the product of my hard work. :D

HCJC Chinese Drama production is one of the best shows amongst the Singapore colleges. Buy tickets from meeeeeee! :D

My beloved little CCA group came to the conclusion that I only like Captains/Vice Captains (nonsense), thanks to evil Janeywaney. (No surprise here, she's been evil since we were in primary school! -.-)

"Are you sms-ing that non-captain?"
"Er, yes."
"I knew it! Too bad he's not a captain, right?"
"It doesn't matter if he's a captain or not! In fact I'm so much closer to Gabriel than him!"

"Omg, I forgot that Gabriel is a captain too..."
